How Much Does a New Furnace Cost?
There are several variables that will determine the cost of a new furnace such as correct sizing and efficiency. First, are you interested in a gas or electric furnace? Second, does your HVAC system already have an air conditioner or are you considering that in the future?
Below are like for like replacement costs only, on average for a gas furnace or air handler (electric furnace). It is necessary for us to perform a free in home estimate on site for an exact price.
- The installation of a furnace will take approximately 4 – 6 hours
- The cost of a furnace (gas or electric) installation is from $6,000 to $8,000
- During our free in home estimate, you can expect our comfort consultant to determine the correct sizing needed, inform and educate you on the equipment that will best fit your needs,and perform properly in your home. An electronic estimate will be put together while we are on site for most projects.

Turn Key Installation
When you choose Area Heating & Cooling for your furnace installation we take care of all the details:
- Pull mechanical & gas piping permits.
- Schedule high voltage connections with our electrician.
- Schedule any plumbing needs.
- Schedule sheetrock or structural repairs if needed.
- Request duct testing & duct cleaning schedules if needed.
- Complete and process any rebate paperwork.
- Schedule and coordinate county, city, and state inspections.
- Submit any financing paperwork.
- Register all of your equipment’s manufacturer warranty.
- Lifetime craftsmanship warranty through Area Heating on all items installed that are not equipment (ie ducting, insulation wrap etc)
Our team of experienced installers will send you an electronic notification that they are on the way to your home. Upon arrival they will go over the details of the job with you and confirm equipment locations. We will treat your home with care and wear shoe covers and lay drop clothes in areas we are working. We take every percaution to ensure that all drains are installed with extra safety features that go beyond the normal installation practices. Including custom freeze protection on all 90% gas furnaces to prevent winter failures.
After the installation is completed we will go over the operations of your new furnace and answer any questions you may have.
