Air Conditioners

If you are planning to replace your air conditioner or considering adding air conditioning we are here to help!

Replacement VS Repair

  • On average an air conditioner can last 15-20 years. Age is always an important factor to consider before dumping money into a costly repair on an aging unit.
  • If it doesn’t seem like it is cooling as well as it use to. This may be a sign it is time to start shopping for a replacement.
  • Excessive noise like screeching, or loud banging is a sign something is wrong.
  • Frozen coils, or pipes at the equipment can be a sign of a refrigeration issue and a potentially expensive repair.

How Much Does an Air Conditioner Cost?

There are several variables that will determine the cost of an air conditioner installation. Below are like for like replacement costs, for an air conditioner and coil only, on average. It is necessary for us to perform a free in home estimate to give an exact estimate on site.

  • Most air conditioners are paired with a gas furnace. If your gas furnace is fairly new, you may not need to replace it. If both units are nearing the end of their lifespans, it would be more cost effective to replace them both at the same time.
  • The installation process for a new air conditioner can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending on if we need to also replace the coil at the furnace.
  • Cost on a single speed/stage, 2 to 5 ton air conditioner with a new coil, and new copper lines to connect the coil to the A/C, with like to like equipment, will start at $8,000 to $12,000.
  • If you are shopping for 2 stage or variable speed equipment, we have several options available and will require an in home estimate.
  • During our free in home estimate, you can expect our comfort consultant to determine the correct tonage needed, and to inform and educate you on the equipment that will best fit your needs and perform properly in your home. An electronic estimate will be put together while we are on site for most projects.

“Chris Clark was prompt, arriving before my 4 hour window. He explained the cause of my issue (frozen outlet pipe) and assured me it would resolve itself when the outside temperature rises. He performed maintenance on my furnace and even checked my thermostat finding leaking batteries inside.. He was very efficient, thorough, professional and friendly.”
