Thermostats/Zoning

Your comfort is our top priority! With nearly 50 years of experience, we are here to help you find the right controls for your home.

Zoning a Ducted System

Zoning is a great option to give equal temperatures between floors or “zones” of your home. Zoning is a way to help balance out extreme hot and cold spots in your home that one thermostat can’t effectively do.

Zoning also allows you the flexibility to have multiple controls off of one ducted system. As an example: you could have a furnace and one a/c or heat pump with up to 5 thermostats.

When does A/C Zoning Make Sense?

Because heat rises, you may experience temperature fluctuations in a multi-level home. Few people enjoy sleeping when it is hot, and what can be equally uncomfortable, is getting out of bed into a freezing bedroom. Investing in a zoned system will allow you to set separate temperatures in the upstairs and downstairs, rather than trying to control both levels from one thermostat.

If your home has large bay windows, picture windows, floor to ceiling windows, or high ceilings, zoning may be a great option for this room.

How Much Does Zoning Cost?

If you have a newer system with adequate ductwork, zoning cost will start at $4,500 to $6,000. Depending on how many zones are needed and if any duct modifications are required the cost would go up from there.
